The coaching carousel this offseason is going to be insane. James Franklin was let go from Penn State a couple weeks back, and Billy Napier was fired from Florida one week later. Now, it’s Brian Kelly reportedly getting relieved of his duties at LSU.
As we’ve done with the aforementioned fired head coaches, let’s take a look at three players committed to LSU that the Michigan Wolverines should check in on.
Four-star CB Havon Finney
A Top-100 overall player in the class, Finney was a big time target for LaMar Morgan and company
up until he announced his commitment to LSU back in April. The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder from California will have no shortage of options should he choose to decommitment from the Tigers, as he had other offers from all across the country.
Michigan would face some stiff competition should that come to fruition, but with a massive need at cornerback remaining for the Wolverines, they shouldn’t be afraid to go all out for a player for his caliber before the cycle ends.
Four-star DL Deuce Geralds
Another major target for the Wolverines prior to his LSU commitment, Geralds is one of the best at his position in the 2026 class. At 6-foot-2 and 275 pounds, the Georgia native is a Top-100 overall player in the country and took official visits to Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State and Ole Miss before deciding on LSU in August.
Michigan doesn’t really need Geralds in the class, necessarily, given all the other defensive linemen committed currently. But he would be a luxury at one of the most premium positions in football, and you can never have too many good players in the trenches.
Four-star WR Jabari Mack
heThis would be the ultimate “shoot your shot” for Michigan, as Mack is a Louisiana native and has been committed to LSU since March. He has not taken a documented visit to Ann Arbor during his recruitment, so it is very highly unlikely he would even consider Michigan if he decommits from LSU.
However, wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy is a Louisiana native and pulled a prospect from the Bayou State last cycle in Jacob Washington. In this day and age of NIL, you never know what could happen. Money talks, as they say, so if Michigan wants an elite player at the position before the end of the cycle, why not give Mack a call?
