Indiana football is already turning its run through the College Football Playoff into increasing momentum on the high school recruiting trail.
Garyon Hobbs, a safety out of the Christian Academy of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, committed to join the Hoosiers on Sunday, two days after No. 1-seed Indiana beat No. 5-seed Oregon in the Peach Bowl to advance to the National Championship Game. He’s rated as a four star prospect in the class of 2027, ranking as the 38th highest-rated safety and 391st
highest-rated prospect overall, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. He chose the Hoosiers over offers from Notre Dame, Louisville, Kentucky, Clemson and Oklahoma, among others.
He’s one of four members of Indiana’s incoming high school recruiting class of 2027 and one of three to commit on Sunday, joining athlete Monsanna Torbert Jr. and wide receiver Ja’Hyde Brown, a teammate of his at the Christian Academy of Louisville. It’s further evidence of the Hoosiers’ heightened standing in the recruiting scene.
