The Arizona Cardinals came out of week one mostly unscathed, but they did have one injury that will require a trip to injured reserve, as special teams captain Joey Blount was placed on IR today.
From the team:
The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed wide receiver Simi Fehoko (SIM-ee / FAY-ho-ko) to the active roster from the practice squad and has placed safety Joey Blount on injured reserve. In addition, the team has signed linebacker Channing Tindall to the practice squad.
The signings took place today at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe, AZ.
Tindall (6-2, 236) played 44 games over the past three seasons with the Dolphins after entering the league with Miami as a third-round selection (102nd overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft from Georgia. During his time in Miami, he had 12 special teams tackles and six tackles on defense. The 25-year old Tindall appeared in 16 games as a rookie in 2022, all 17 games in 2023 and 11 games last year. He also played in two postseason contests with the Dolphins.
Tindall will wear jersey #47.
Let’s hope Blount is okay, that was a scary scene.
Meanwhile, welcome to the desert, Channing.
