While a certain football game got a lot of the attention over the weekend, it was also a big weekend in college basketball. There were several marquee games that took place, but the biggest was probably the one we care about the most. Seth Trimble’s game winner on Saturday night gave UNC a big win over Duke in the most dramatic of circumstances. However, Carolina’s victory wasn’t the only intriguing one of the weekend. Let’s take a look at what the Top 25 fallout was after a major basketball weekend.

Where is UNC?
The victory did provide a nice little boost for the Tar Heels in this week’s poll. After beating Duke, Carolina moved up three spots to #11, just 60ish ranking points from getting into the top ten.
Biggest Winners
In terms of number of places, only Houston and St. John’s had bigger rises than UNC. The Cougars and Red Storm each moved up five places. Houston did so in part because some of the teams around them lost, while St. John’s picked up a very nice win over UConn to jump up.
Biggest Losers
Gonzaga and BYU had the biggest falls of the week, each dropping six places. I’m honestly quite surprised the Zags only fell six places, considering they lost to Portland in WCC play.

Where is UNC?
Having just snuck into the Top 25 last week, Carolina built on that by winning games over NC State, Clemson, and Wake Forest, the latter of which was a dominant blowout. As a result, UNC moved up a couple spots and now sit at #21.
Biggest Winners
Annoyingly, the only team with a bigger jump that UNC on the women’s side was that team down the road. Duke moved up six places thatnks to a 15-game winning streak that includes a win over then-#6 Louisville last week. UNC could put an end to that, as the women’s side of the rivalry will renew hostilities this week.
Biggest Losers
Iowa ended up as the team with the biggest drop of anyone this week. They’ve taken three-straight losses in recent weeks, including one to a decent but unranked Minnesota squad in their last game. As a result, the Hawkeyes have fallen six places in this week’s poll.
