Shotzi Blackheart is a champion in MLW. You may have already seen her strutting with the women’s featherweight championship in places such as CMLL, and now the match has officially aired on MLW Fusion (June 6, 2026). The show also featured the Good Brothers fighting the Skyscrapers in a tables match for the tag titles and Mistico in action from Cicero Stadium in Chicago, Illinois.
Shotzi battled reigning champion Shoko Nakajima. This was a pretty good match. The Big Kaiju was slick on tiger feint
kicks. Shotzi dodged one attempt in the middle of the ropes, and Shoko kept spinning through to hit her on the lower level. Both wrestlers served their share of DDTs and suplexes. Shotzi showed smooth strategy when transitioning from a German suplex to a tiger suplex as Shoko grabbed the ropes trying to block. The story of the finish was a battle of flying sentons. Both of them went for the maneuver a handful of times, however, it was often countered on the turnbuckles, such as a superplex from Shotzi and an avalanche rana from Shoko. In the end, Shoko took flight and landed in an empty pool. Shotzi seized the moment to rally for her senton finisher. The Ballsy Badass now holds the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Championship. After the match, Shotzi was fired up and ready to hunt monsters.
The main event was a tables match for the MLW World Tag Team Championship. The Skyscrapers brawled with the Good Brothers through the crowd. Back to the ring to set up tables, and Doc Gallows was the first man eliminated. The Big LG was busted open and goozled Donovan Dijak and Bishop Dyer. The Skyscrapers countered that goozling for a double goozle chokeslam through a table.
Dyer was the next man to crash through a table. Karl Anderson dodged a shoulder tackle and shoved Dyer’s momentum into the wood. Anderson and Dijak threw blows. Anderson gained the upper hand, but Dyer grabbed his foot from the outside. Dijak took advantage of the distraction to manhandle Anderson through a table in the corner. Victory to the Skyscrapers to retain the gold. The fighting continued after the match to close the episode.
The middle of this title match sandwich was Mistico versus Diego Hill. The ring story was superstar veteran against hot prospect. Hill showed flash, but this was Mistico’s match to win. El Rey de Plata y Oro surged for a Spanish Fly, a Mexican Destroyer, and a frog splash for the pin. Afterward, Mistico put over Hill as earning his respect.
Hill is mentored by the legendary Blue Panther, who holds the MLW National Openweight Championship. Austin Aries arrived on stage to talk trash and challenge Blue Panther for a shot. Aries heeled hard by throwing tortillas into the crowd for them to soak up the beer in their stomachs. Aries also tried to drive a wedge with Hill. He accused the luchadores of trying to hold the youngster back.
Kushida was scheduled to wrestle Alan Angels, however, the card is subject to change. That’s because Kushida ambushed Angels backstage in a Contra attack. Okumura joined Kushida as a new member of Contra. The match was officially postponed.
Killer Kross defends the MLW World Heavyweight Championship next week against Matt Riddle. The champ opened the show with Scarlett Bordeaux by his side. Kross cut a motivational babyface promo with the message to never give up on yourself. He also thanked the fans for paying their hard earned money for a ticket. Welcome to the new beginning of MLW.
Alexander Hammerstone will have a keen eye on that bout to get the winner. He bullied Rich Bocchini into getting MLW to pay for his travel to watch the world title fight.
MLW also teased a new championship in the works and Cesar Duran making an announcement next week.
This episode of Fusion was entertaining. If you’ve never watched MLW before, I think this is a strong starting point to get the vibe of the promotion. It hit the right notes for babyface heat and heel heat. Shotzi’s title win over Shoko brought style, Mistico and Hill brought flash in the ring, and the tables match brought violence.
