Joe Cowan: 7/10
He didn’t have much to do tonight and was really well protected by his defence but looked confident in his handling and with the ball to feet.
George Bell: 7/10
Was solid defensively at right back, comfortably dealing with
any rare threat that came his way.
Charlie Forsyth: 7/10
An accomplished display at centre back, quick to put a foot in when Forest were attacking.
Finlay Holcroft: 8/10
Was reading the game well, organising the back four and happy to push up to close down when the opportunity arose.
Archie Lightfoot: 7/10
There was some danger in the first half down his side, with Forest having some pace over there but he quickly snuffed it out and that threat disappeared in the second half.
Liam Hunt (C): 8/10
Sat just in front of the back four and protected them when needed but it was impressive how he always seemed to have time on the ball in a fast paced game.
Charlie Dinsdale: 8/10
Played alongside Hunt in midfield but had license to get forward and he used that to great effect all night, scoring a deserved goal to make it 3-0.
Tom Proctor: 7/10
Drove us up the pitch for the hour he was on, making a number of strong runs forward.
Felix Scott: 7/10
Started on the left and caused the opposition full back plenty of problems when he dropped a shoulder, a bit loose with the ball at times but had a good game.
Finn Geragusian: 8/10
Started on the right wing and caused problems from there, cutting inside to score an absolute screamer. Moved up top in the second half and led the line well too.
Marcus Neill: 7/10
A real striker’s finish for his goal, nipped in front of the defender and goalkeeper to hook the ball home from Holcroft’s header. Had good movement all night and with better finishing could have had a hat trick, although was very unlucky to see a header cleared off the line.
Substitutes
Bayley Hester: 6/10
Tested the goalkeeper after trapping the cross field ball by Matadeen, cutting inside and letting fly.
Ivan Struk: 6/10
Came on as we were seeing the game out and helped us keep hold of the clean sheet.
Jay Matadeen: 7/10
A very lively cameo from Matadeen, setting up the third goal, and had some other exciting runs up the left wing.
Matthew Burns: N/A
A very late change, coming on for Dinsdale.
Man of the Match: Charlie Dinsdale
An all action midfield display by Dinsdale and he’s my man of the match. Scored a lovely goal with a late run into the box and a fine finish past the goalkeeper but never seemed to stop running all night, causing Forest all sorts of issues when he drove at them with the ball to feet.
