Notre Dame’s top 5 class for 2026 grew even larger this week when Austrailian punter Jasper Scaife gave his commitment to the Fighting Irish.
It was recently ruled by the NCAA that James Rendell was out of eligibility to punt at Notre Dame. It was a bit of a blow, and a bit wild to hear after seeing what’s going on in college basketball:
Regardless… Notre Dame got what it needed done, and brought another Austrailian over to South Bend to punt for the Irish. Apparently, Scaife is a really good one, and with a 6’5” 200 pound frame — he will certainly fill out a uniform like Rendell did too.
“Generational talent. Straight off the bat, I’ve never really seen anyone hit the ball as he does. He’s got a gift.” – Trainer Mackenzie Morgan of
His commitment brings Notre Dame’s historical 2026 recruiting class to 29 commitments and is still ranked #4 in the country according to the 247 Team Composite Ranking.
It’s roster movement season, but in the evening of December 26, this is what the scholarship chart looks like for next year.
