Big Ten road wins are hard to come by but the Huskers are hoping to snag one in Madison on Wednesday night. The Huskers sit at 14-4 and 3-4 in the Big Ten. All of Nebraska’s losses have come to teams that are ranked ahead of them in the standings.
In recent years, it would be easy to put this game into the win column for the Huskers, but Wisconsin features an improved lineup and first-year head coach that has them already near the win total from the entire 24-25 season. The transfer portal world means
a team can alter its trajectory quickly and while I wouldn’t consider the Badgers a top team in the Big Ten, they are capable of beating the Huskers if Nebraska looks past this game.

Head Coach: Robin Pingeton (St. Ambrose, 1992) First Season at Wisconsin (12-7); 31st Season Overall (597-382)
Nebraska leads the all-time series with Wisconsin 17-7, including a nine-game winning streak.
The Big Red rolled to a 91-60 win over the Badgers in Lincoln last season (Jan. 20, 2025). Kendall Moriarty led Nebraska with a career-high 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting (3-4 3FG), while Jessica Petrie added 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Britt Prince pitched in 14 points and seven rebounds, while Alexis Markowski (12 points, 7 rebounds) and Petra Bozan (10 points) put five Huskers in double figures.
Jill’s Prediction
I do think this is an improved Badger team over last year, but I also think the Huskers have made gains as well, mostly on offense. Nebraska’s defense isn’t what we’ve come to expect from Amy Williams’ teams, but they compensate by scoring more points.
I think Nebraska has the firepower to get the road win: 84-68
