Bayern, LFC to take advantage of Spurs potential relegation? (ESPN)
Tottenham Hotspur’s potential fall into relegation could be a boost to clubs like Bayern Munich and Liverpool. Specifically, Bayern Munich could have a direct line into Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Archie Gray:
Bayern Munich and Liverpool are exploring a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Archie Gray, the Daily Mail reports. Gray, 20, is one of several players that could be moved on if Spurs suffer relegation from the Premier League this season, with both European giants keeping close tabs on his situation.
The report adds that Gray’s teammate Lucas Bergvall could also leave, and the 20-year-old is admired by both Chelsea and Aston Villa.
Bayern Munich has been linked to Gray in the past, but those rumors were largely dismissed because the reality was that Tottenham Hotspur might be reluctant to sell him or that he would be too expensive for the Bavarians. Now…that might not be such a problem.
Report: Milan offered Goretzka deal through 2029 (Transfer journalist Nicolò Schira)
According to a report from transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has already been offered a contract from AC Milan:
Leon #Goretzka is Max #Allegri’s main target as new midfielder. #ACMilan have opened talks to try to sign the midfielder as a free agent. Offered a contract until 2029 (5M/year) + a bonus at signing. There are also several clubs interest in Goretzka, who will leave Bayern in June.
Goretzka is going to have options and it would be shocking if he did not get an offer north of that €5 million per season. That just feels like way too steep of a drop of his current total pay of €17 million (€13 million salary + €4 million bonuses).
Camavinga’s red card, Real’s berating of referee “stupid” per Sneijder (Goal)
Former Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder did not like what he saw as Real Madrid unraveled after losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League:
Wesley Sneijder has launched a scathing attack on Real Madrid’s players following their explosive Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich. The former Bernabeu midfielder criticised the squad’s decision to target the referee instead of holding Eduardo Camavinga accountable for his “stupid” dismissal during the quarter-final second leg.
Questioning the team’s choice to confront the referee after the final whistle, Sneijder said on Ziggo Sport: “This should not happen at this level. It is stupidity. We were all expecting extra time; you could feel it from both teams. It is incomprehensible that he does this while already having a yellow card in his pocket. There is something I don’t understand at all: that they are angry with the referee when what they should be doing is going into the dressing room and speaking with Camavinga, not the official.”
United to get serious with Stiller? (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller could be drawing interest from Manchester United:
Angelo Stiller is considered likely to leave VfB Stuttgart this summer, reports Christian Falk. In that event, Manchester United are understood to be one of several Premier League clubs interested in signing him. From a Bayern perspective, it’s never nice to see a talented prospect thrive at another club – even more so if that club is all the way across the English Channel in the Premier League.
“There is a lot of interest in Stiller from the Premier League; Manchester United are concretely interested. The Red Devils were there last summer but didn’t clinch a deal because they came too late in the transfer window. But this could be a serious option for them this summer.
“The 25-year-old has a release clause in his contract (€37.5m [£32.6m]), but VfB Stuttgart can buy this option from Stiller (for an amount between €2m-4m). Then, they’d have the idea of selling the midfielder for €50m [£43.5m]. There are a lot of things that could happen, but I can say that there’s still a chance Stiller would leave Stuttgart in the summer.”
Stiller’s season has been odd as he was not as good as he was last season, but his play has gotten better as of late. Would it be wise for him to move to Manchester United? Financially…yes, but otherwise it seems as if Stiller would be better off honing his skills with VfB Stuttgart.
Celtic, Hull City eyeing Robertson (ESPN)
Both Celtic and Hull City could be thinking about a formal pursuit of Liverpool FC star Andy Robertson:
Celtic and Hull City want to re-sign Andrew Robertson despite Tottenham Hotspur having an understanding with the left back that they will sign him when his Liverpool contract ends.
Atubolu to Brighton? (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
SC Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu is reportedly on Brighton & Hove Albion’s wish list:
🚨🔵 EXCL | Noah #Atubolu is on Brighton’s shortlist for next season – not their top option, but still quite high on the list. Brighton are preparing for a potential departure of Bart Verbruggen.
23 y/o Atubolu is expected to leave SC Freiburg this summer, or at the latest in 2027 on a free transfer. One of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga this season. @SkySportDE
