Bayern Munich are currently in the midst of negotiations with their main defenders. Dayot Upamecano is trying to bump up his bonus, and should he leave the club, Bayern probably don’t want to find themselves short handed in the defensive department.
Per a report from Tobi Altschäffl and Christian Falk (captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is now prioritizing Marc Guéhi as their next center-back option. Should he choose to leave Crystal Palace when his contract expires on the 31st of January, he will
be allowed to open talks with other clubs, and Bayern is going to try their hand at a transfer. It was made known from previous reports that other clubs are also vying to get Guéhi’s signature in the winter transfer window, so Bayern will have some competition. Outbidding clubs like Liverpool and Barcelona might be a big order, also considering the fact that Guéhi might not even want any of the three clubs.
It looks like Bayern Munich will have to put forward their most competitive foot in the race, if they really want to get serious about signing the former Chelsea player. If their budget goes down the Upamecano sinkhole, they might not be able to do that, so fans will definitely be curious to see what the board eventually decides.
What do you think? Should Bayern shell out the money for Marc Guéhi? Let us know in the comments!
