What do you call a submission-only grappling match — one that’s supposed to go until someone taps — that somehow still ends without a submission or a winner?
Super lame.
That’s exactly what happened today
(Tues., Dec. 30, 2025) when Arman Tsarukyan and Shara Magomedov collided in a highly anticipated Hype FC grappling match inside Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan, Armenia. Despite the “no judges, no time limit” premise, the bout ended after six minutes with a completely anticlimactic draw.
Tsarukyan was the aggressor early, shooting the first takedown attempt. Magomedov briefly ended up on top during the scramble, but Tsarukyan immediately popped back to his feet with “Shara Bullet” clinging to his back. What followed was more than two minutes of clinching and hand fighting, with very little submission threat from either side.
Tsarukyan did attempt a standing kimura midway through the match, but Magomedov calmly defended it. Moments later, Tsarukyan scored a clean takedown, though Magomedov quickly worked back up. With about a minute remaining, Tsarukyan hoisted Magomedov into the air and dumped him again, briefly working from inside the guard before Magomedov escaped.
And just like that, it was over.
No submission. No winner. Just confusion — in a submission-only match.

Tsarukyan wraps up 2025 having competed in five grappling matches while stuck in UFC Lightweight limbo after fumbling his title opportunity at UFC 311 — though he did score a dominant win over Dan Hooker in November (watch highlights).
Meanwhile, Magomedov hadn’t competed since his bloody win over Marc-Andre Barriault, a fight that sent him to the hospital for precautionary scans and left his nose completely smashed.
