The Chargers are adding another offensive lineman who has familiarity with offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel.
On Tuesday, the Chargers announced the signing of former 49ers and Dolphins offensive tackle Daniel Brunskill to their practice squad. In a corresponding move, the Chargers are also releasing defensive tackle Jordan Jefferson.
Along with the signing, the Chargers are also activating the 21-day practice windows for fullback Scott Matlock and offensive lineman Branson Taylor. Both players have
been on IR since the preseason.
Brunskill spent the first two seasons of his career with the Atlanta Falcons on their practice squad. In the spring of 2019, he also played one season in the now-defunct Alliance of American Football for the San Diego Fleet.
From 2019 to 2022, Brunskill was a member of the San Francisco 49ers where he overlapped with McDaniel. He started 42 of 61 games for the Niners during that span, including 33 starts of a possible 34 during the 2020 and 2021 regular seasons. From 2023-2024, Brunskill started 24 of 31 games for the Titans.
The 32-year old Brunskill was most recently with the Dolphins in 2025 where he started five games for McDaniel while playing in 16 total contests.
