Indiana football may be in the market for a quarterback this coming offseason.
The Hoosiers have enjoyed great success at the position through two seasons under head coach Curt Cignetti, with Kurtis Rourke
guiding the offense to a 11-2 finish in 2024 and Fernando Mendoza winning the 2025 Heisman Trophy on top of the Big Ten Championship.
There’s options at the position heading into 2026 with Alberto Mendoza waiting in the wings, Tyler Cherry’s return from injury and potential additions through the transfer portal. We’ll be going through several candidates that Indiana could look at.
Indiana football transfer targets: Quarterback
- Josh Hoover, TCU
- Dylan Raiola, Nebraska
- Brendan Sorsby, Cincinnati
- Drew Mestemaker, North Texas
Beau Pribula, Missouri
Beau Pribula was one of multiple quarterbacks Indiana showed interest in last offseason before Fernando Mendoza committed.
Pribula, a member of the high school class of 2022, originally committed to Penn State and spent three seasons with the Nittany Lions. Facing another season behind entrenched starter Drew Allar after 2024, Pribula entered the transfer portal and committed to Missouri, where he spent 2025 as the starter. His stats from this past season are as follows:
- 2025: 1,941 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns, 9 interceptions. Completed 67.4% of his passing attempts. 297 rushing yards, 6 rushing touchdowns.
Pribula’s resume presents a mixed bag because, while he’ll be entering his fifth year of college football in 2026, he’s coming off of his first as a full-time starter. He was used as a bit of a gadget player for Penn State at times and it’s not necessarily his fault that he was behind Allar, but the fact remains that he’s only started a single season.
Missouri was pretty successful overall in 2025 but Pribula’s stats aren’t exactly eye-popping. He’s not a dropback passer, he brings something on the ground, but not all that much.
All things considered, Pribula will probably be pretty low on Indiana’s priority list. Definitely a candidate, but not the No. 1 option on the board.
