The #7 ranked Duke women started the basketball season in the City of Lights but Baylor’s Taliah Scott racked up 24 to lead the #16 Bears to the 58-52 upset in Paris.
Half of Scott’s points came in the
4th quarter as Baylor simply outplayed the Blue Devils down the stretch.
Toby Fournier was the only Blue Devil in double figures with 16 but she hit just 5-15 from the floor. She also led the team with 10 rebounds.
Ashlon Jackson had nine points while Jordan Wood came off the bench for seven.
Duke shot just 29% collectively and had 15 turnovers. Baylor also had 20 offensive rebounds. You won’t win many games with numbers like that.
The Blue Devils return stateside to play Holy Cross in Cameron on Sunday.
