Julian Nagelsmann has become one of the most controversial figures in the coaching world in recent years. An extremely bright young manager with massive potential, he proved his worth to the world with TSG Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig. After that, however, Nagelsmann was sacked early in his tenure with Bayern Munich despite no clear failures, and he was later forced to resign following a lackluster World Cup with the German national team.
Fast forward to today, and while Nagelsmann’s time with the DFB
has been heavily criticized—and for good reason—it appears top clubs are looking to take a chance on the still-young German manager. Rumors have swirled regarding Manchester United’s interest, but now there is concrete interest from Juventus, who have reportedly contacted Nagelsmann to become their coach should they decide to replace Spalletti, per Rudy Galetti.
Is it possible that Nagelsmann is best suited for club football, or was his recent tenure with the DFB a revelation in how the football world now views the German coach? Nagelsmann was viewed by some as not putting his full effort into the DFB role, which could leave a sour taste in some mouths. For others, however, the brilliant tactician could still be worth taking a shot at.
