Maryland field hockey goalie Alyssa Klebasko was named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Klebasko had a stellar weekend, tying a career-high six saves against Penn Friday. In total, she allowed just one goal all weekend, including a shutout against No. 13 Saint Joseph’s. The shutout was Klebasko’s 13th of her Maryland career.
Klebasko, who earned her first conference honors of the season, has continued her impressive 2024 campaign in which she had a .740 save
percentage. She will look to bolster her last weekend’s performance with another solid outing this coming Friday against No. 17 Penn State.
