Over the course of the last twenty-four hours, the Minnesota Vikings have been busy, particularly when it comes to their practice squad.
Outside of the addition of Kyle Van Noy, whose signing to the practice squad became official this morning, the Vikings have brought in five more players to the practice squad over the past couple of days. A couple of them are familiar, as they were waived on Monday to facilitate the players that the Vikings claimed on waivers, but there are others that we’ll get
you acquainted with shortly.
Here’s the short version. The Vikings have added the following players to the practice squad:
- WR Dillon Bell
- QB Max Brosmer
- RB Deejay Dallas
- DL Naquan Jones
- TE Cam Grandy
- OLB Kyle Van Noy
In order to make room for those players on the practice squad, the Vikings have waived the following players:
- C Gavin Gerhardt
- G Joshua Gray
- TE Marshall Lang
- OT Tristan Leigh
- OLB Cam’Ron Stewart
The Vikings had 15 players on the practice squad after their initial lot of signings on Monday, so with the signings and releases, they’re now at their full allotment of 16.
As far as the additions are concerned, Bell and Brosmer spent training camp with the Vikings, and we’ve posted about Van Noy already a couple of times (which you can see here and here). Let’s give you a bit about the other three new faces.
- Dallas has been in the league for a bit, as he was a fourth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played his college ball at Miami (FL), and spent his first four seasons with the Seahawks. He was a role player for Seattle, collecting 112 carries for 468 yards and four touchdowns while also getting 61 receptions for 396 yards and another score in those four seasons. In 2024, he moved on to the Arizona Cardinals, where he was used almost exclusively as a kick returner. He had a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown that season, becoming the first player to return one of the league’s new “dynamic kickoffs” for a score. In 2025, he only played in six games, appearing in three games for the Carolina Panthers and three more for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- Jones has also been in the league for several seasons. He came into the league in 2021, signing with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent from Michigan State. He spent his first two and a half seasons with Tennessee, and then spent the last part of the 2023 season with the Arizona Cardinals. After a brief stint on the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad to start the 2024 season, Jones went back to Arizona in 2024, appearing in 12 games. Last season, he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, playing eight games with them before being released in December and ending up with the Houston Texans, appearing in four games with them. He had signed a one-year deal with the Texans in the offseason but was released as part of their final cuts.
- Grandy, whose signing had been reported on Monday but not officially finalized until Tuesday, signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent after the 2024 NFL Draft. He spent his first two seasons with the Bengals and wound up on their practice squad to start the year. He was eventually elevated to their main roster, and over the past two seasons has appeared in 13 games for them, playing largely on special teams. He’s caught seven passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.
So, with all the changes, the Vikings’ practice squad now looks like this:
- CB Da’Veawn Armstead
- WR Dillon Bell
- WR Michael Briscoe
- QB Max Brosmer
- G Henry Byrd
- RB DeeJay Dallas
- TE Cam Grandy
- S Kahlef Hailassie
- DL Naquan Jones
- LB Bangally Kamara
- OT Jack Nelson
- CB Bryce Phillips
- DL Jahvaree Ritzee
- WR Trayvon Rudolph
- S Tavierre Thomas
- OLB Kyle Van Noy
Alright, now everybody should be caught up on everything. If the Vikings do make any more moves, we will bring them to you here as soon as we have them.
