Lamine Yamal has been on media duty with Spain ahead of their World Cup last 32 tie against Austria.
The Barcelona teenager has admitted he would like to see his team to sign Julian Alvarez and has followed that up by telling the Argentina star he would be most welcome at Camp Nou.
“Right now I’m not thinking about it much, but I hope so, because he’s a great player,” he told Cadena SER.
“If he comes, we’ll welcome him with open arms because he’ll be coming to the best club in the world, with the best fans
in the world, and in what I consider the best city in the world. If I were him, I would do it. We’ll be waiting for him if he wants to come. Go for it.”
Yamal is just the latest Barcelona player to talk up a move for Alvarez and praise the Argentina star amid speculation about a move to Catalunya.
The message from the dressing room therefore seems clear, the players would love to have Alvarez in the team next season.
