Fresh off a 17-0 win over the Miami (OH) RedHawks, the Wisconsin Badgers are looking ahead to Week 2, where they’ll take on the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders at Camp Randall Stadium.
Wisconsin had its ups and downs in Week 1, as a quarterback injury to Billy Edwards Jr. disrupted the offense. But, the defense stood its ground, limiting the RedHawks to just 117 total yards as they completely shut down both parts of the Miami (OH) offense.
Now, they’ll look towards a Middle Tennessee team that
flopped in Week 1, suffering their first-ever defeat to an FCS team with a 34-14 loss to Austin Peay. It’s been a tough start for head coach George Mason at Middle Tennessee, as the Blue Raiders went 3-9 in his inaugural season.
In the season opener, Middle Tennessee’s offense was abysmal, with quarterback Nicholas Vattiato completing only 41.7 percent of his passes and throwing for 2.9 yards per attempt. On the ground, the Blue Raiders managed only 2.0 yards per carry, and the offensive line gave up five sacks.
Wisconsin has a big opportunity for a blowout in this game, so hopefully its offense gets back on track with a strong day in Week 2.
