Things have slowed down with the 2027 recruiting class following a hectic summer, but Steve Sarkisian and his staff are still evaluating their options at some positions.
Yesterday, three-star Prattville (AL) linebacker Jason Crenshaw Jr. announced that he has received an offer from the Longhorns. Crenshaw Jr. is committed to Georgia Tech.
Crenshaw Jr. has been committed to Georgia Tech since the summer after official visits to see them along with North Carolina. The Longhorns currently do not have a linebacker commit for the current cycle, and this offer certainly signals that they are still looking over senior film of prospects all over the country and remaining patient with their approach.
It appears Crenshaw’s recruitment is beginning to pick up. Along with the Longhorns, programs like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Ohio State have all recently been in touch with him recently. Georgia Tech looks like it will have a fight on its hands heading towards December.
With Crenshaw only taking a couple official visits in the summer, there is still a chance that more visits could be on table. The important data to look for next will be if Texas can get him to Austin for a visit to make the extension of an offer more real.
Crenshaw is off to a strong start for his senior season, as he has already tallied 31 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for a loss, 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and has recorded two touchdowns.
