BYU is getting a top 2027 recruit on campus as 5-star wing DeMarcus Henry is taking an unofficial visit to BYU, 247 Sports’ Dushawn London first reported. Henry is rated a 5-star prospect by 247 Sports composite rankings.
DeMarcus has ties to BYU. He is a member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints,
and his cousin Suli Davis is a star freshman on the BYU Women’s Volleyball team. DeMarcus has other family members that have also played athletics for BYU.
DeMarcus is the son of former NFL wide receiver Chris Henry, who died in 2009. His older brother is 5-Star Ohio State WR commit Chris Henry Jr.
DeMarcus is a member of the 2027 class, meaning he is currently a high school junior. He currently preps at Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona. He is a 6-foot-7 lefty wing who shows great movement at his size and projects as a versatile and high-end defender. DeMarcus has deep shooting range and is a bouncy athlete who can finish above the rim.
BYU has been in contact with DeMarcus for several months, and I expect BYU to be a major player in DeMarcus’ recruitment due to his family connections to BYU and the Church as well as his overall talent and upside.
