The Red Sox 5-game losing streak, thankfully, is over. And while I wouldn’t exactly say that Red Sox Nation was panicking this week, there certainly was a sense of “oh no, what’s going on here?” as the bats went silent and the losses piled up.
It’s hard to blame anyone for feeling that way— we were subjected to some UGLY baseball for the first third of the season. A lot of fans probably don’t fully trust this team, and for good reason. And yet the FanGraphs playoff odds remain extremely favorable
for the Sox, who currently sit with a 94.2% chance of making the playoffs. (And, by the way, that number never even dropped below 90% during the mini losing streak.)
So after Payton Tolle’s heroics yesterday, how are we feeling today? Are you brushing off the losing streak as something that almost every team goes through at some point, or are you worried about fundamental issues with the roster (i.e. the lacking of power hitting) popping up again?
