The Kentucky Wildcats football program dropped out of the top 25 despite winning on the road in the SEC last week. The Cats left no doubt about whether or not they would be ranked this week as they derailed the Lane Train and sent LSU back home with a 35- 34 loss.
And the sports world lit up with reactions to not only the game, but the gutsy play from Kenny Minchey, who called his own number in OT.
ESPN’s Pat McAfee was part of a LSU prediction sweep earlier on Saturday, as everyone on the set picked the Tigers. But Pat’s reaction after may make him think twice before picking agaisnt Stein again.
Kentucky is even getting some playoff love:
Brandon Walker wants to know what happened to Lane Kiffin.
ESPN spent the night talking about how awesome Kroger Field was, and then showcased how cool it was to see a sea of blue (see what I did there) after the upset:
And perhaps my favorite, LSU put up a fake Kenny Minchey quote that said LSU hadn’t played a team like Kentucky yet. The Cats football social media team did a little Photoshop:
And finally, if you haven’t heard yet, you have to listen to Tom Leach’s call:
What a night in Lexington.
