Ordinarily in the second week of the preseason, you’d get to see players you recognize, who will be playing regularly this season, for about one half of the game.
But then Jayden Higgins tore his ACL, ending his season; the fact that the team could lose their WR2 during practice has led the Texans to rethink their preseason plans. Instead of a half of vanilla football, it looks like the team is going to keep the starters in bubble wrap for the most part to avoid any other unnecessary injuries.
But
that’s fine. It’s the preseason. And time spent figuring out the team’s depth chart is never wasted.
So let’s sit down and watch the second game of the preseason which comes with a small bit of good news: after this game is over, we’re 2/3 of the way through which means real football, the quest for the Texans’ first Super Bowl, will begin for real very, very soon.
Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing if Marlin Klein can build on the success he had in the first game. Who are you looking forward to seeing play tonight?
