Florida State, national champions once more.
The Seminoles finished off their NCAA Tournament run on Monday in dramatic fashion against the Stanford Cardinal, scoring in the final minutes of the College
Cup Final to claim their fifth national championship.
FSU got revenge for its 2-1 loss to Stanford earlier this season, earning a national title at the expense of the Cardinal for the second time in the last three seasons.
Wrianna Hudson scored in the 86′, finishing off a strong Seminoles attack right when it was most needed. Stanford tried to pull off a furious rally to send the game to extra time but the Seminoles held steady to earn the title.
Head coach Brian Pensky has now won two national titles over the course of four seasons in Tallahassee.
