What is the story about?

Wow. OK. The Tennessee Titans are trading All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears, according to Adam Schefter.

Along with Simmons, the Titans are sending a 2028 5th-round pick to the Bears. The Titans are getting two first-round picks (2027 and 2028) as well as a 2027 fourth-round pick. This is a lot to take in.

On one hand, it makes perfect sense. The Titans are still a couple of years from

competing. Simmons will probably be on the downhill side of his career at that point, so get maximum value for him now.

On the other hand, it’s hard to see Big Jeff go. He has been the best player on this team for the last couple of years. He is probably the best defensive tackle in the league right now. The Titans have had so few of those players since they have been here.

I’m happy for Simmons. He now gets the chance to go and play for a contender. He has been great for this franchise. He deserves the chance to go play for a winner.
