To continue the 2026 season, the Miami Hurricanes head back on the road for the game of the year. They’re in South Bend, Indiana to face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Miami is 8-0, ranked #1 in every poll and the CFP rankings, and look to end the non-conference schedule undefeated. And, in doing so, deal a major blow to the playoff hopes of a hated rival.
For Notre Dame, this is a must-win game. Already with a defeat on their record and ranked 11th in the initial CFP rankings, another
loss to Miami would be the likely end of the Playoff dreams for the Irish….yet again.
Here are the particulars for you to watch this week’s game:

Every game for Miami is a big game, and this is another spotlight game for the Canes. Everybody who loves Miami, and many who HATE Miami, will be tuned in, watching and dissecting every play. The Canes are the #1 team in the country, and have designs on championships this season.
Notre Dame is fighting for their playoff lives. Like Miami’s November last year, the playoffs have started now for Notre Dame. They must win every game to have a chance at the CFP, so the stakes are massive for the Irish.
As far as the line is concerned, Miami has been and will be the underdog for this game. The line moved significantly this week for one reason: the news that star WR Malachi Toney sustained an ankle injury in practice on Wednesday, has undergone surgery, and will miss 4-6 weeks minimum in recovery. Miami will now be tasked with competing against the best opponent of the year while having to replace the best player in college football. And, fix a defense that’s regressed badly and struggled mightily in recent weeks.
I’m late with this piece so you know the stakes already. Now we just have to watch, and win, the game.
Miami. Notre Dame. 7:30pm. NBC.
