Jose Ochoa had quite a night at UFC 328 on Saturday.
Following a dominant performance against Clayton Carpenter and winning a lopsided unanimous decision, Ochoa used part of his post-fight interview to propose to his girlfriend. UFC color commentator Joe Rogan asked if his girlfriend was in the building but Ochoa informed him that she was actually back him in Brazil.
Well, thankfully the proposal didn’t go to waste because after he got backstage, Ochoa already got the good news that his girlfriend
accepted.
“Yes, she said yes,” Ochoa told MMA Fighting during his post-fight interview. “She was waiting for that moment.”
That’s good news because marriage proposals in MMA have come during some strange moments and even with varied results in the past.
The good news is Ochoa won his fight and his girlfriend said yes so he can officially mark down May 9, 2025 as a great day for him both personally and professionally.
As far as the fight goes, Ochoa got back on track after dropping a decision in a short-notice appearance against Asu Almabayev this past July. He’s now 2-2 overall in his UFC career.
