The 2026/27 season just started, and there’s already leaks of Bayern Munich’s home shirt for the 2027/28 season. This time, Adidas wanted to stick to the basics of making shirts for the Bavarians and wanted to capture the essence of Bayern:
Bayern’s 2027/28 home kit will feature a red that is a little bit darker than the club’s classic bright red – a red with a touch of maroon. Rather than a plain finish, the shirt will incorporate a distinctive diamond pattern throughout the fabric, drawing inspiration from the Bavarian club’s traditional heritage and the iconic diamonds of the club crest
Previous reports stated that purple was supposed to be a prominent feature on the new home kit, but that has now been classified as false. Well, mostly false, because the club still intends to use the red-purple color scheme for the children’s edition of the kit:
BFW Commentary
Going back to the senior team’s kit, I am absolutely in favor of the design. A mostly red kit with traditional diamonds on it? I like it. It can be perceived as a nod to at least four former home kits in the modern era: 2013/14, 2015/16, 2018/19 and 2019/20.
Admittedly, I’m a huge fan of those four kits because it’s pleasing to the eye. After what Adidas tried with Bayern’s kits as of late, going back to basics isn’t always a bad idea.
