1st Inning
Ashtyn Danley got the start for the Seminoles, and shut down the Rattlers in order. In the bottom of the inning, Samantha Smith for FAMU walked Marin Heller before a Jaysoni Beachum double brought in an RBI.
FSU continued to get Danley, Anna Hinde and Kennedy Harp on base. With the bases loaded, Makenna
Sturgis made it 2-0 on a single in the infield. Before the conclusion of the inning, FAMU went to the bullpen for Zoryana Hughes.
2nd Inning
Similar to the first inning, the second also became with a walk. Hughes walked both Angelee Bueno and Heller to put two on base. Beachum got her second RBI of the day on a single, and Danley made it 4-0 on a single of her own.
After a strikeout, Kennedy Harp got her first hit of the year on a 2 RBI double into right field. Hughes got the second out of the inning before both Shelby McKenzie and Hayley Griggs singled, pushing the ‘Noles lead to 8-0.
4th Inning
FSU switched from Danley to Marlee Gaskell in the 4th, and Gaskell got two strikeouts as she had a 1-2-3 inning of the Rattlers. For the ‘Noles offensively, they faced Sariah Espada, who got the first two outs before Bueno singled and reached third. With a runner on third, Heller brought home Bueno.
Still with two outs, Espada walked a batter, and Danley tripled before a hit by pitch and scored on a throwing error.
The ‘Noles continued to pour on the runs after Harp singled, and Sturgis and McKenzie both came up with RBI’s. After all was said and done, FSU put up 6 runs to make the lead 14-0.
5th Inning
After a crooked inning, Makenna Reid took over in the 5th inning. The senior left handed pitcher gave up a lead off single, but got three strikeouts in a row to help FSU claim a big run rule win.
