Following a 42-24 week 1 win over UTSA, Texas A&M saw little movement in the national rankings. The Aggies actually moved down one spot in the USA Today Coaches Poll, going from No. 21 to No. 22, and stayed put at No. 19 in the AP Top 25.
In week 2, the Aggies once again have an opponent that offers them little with regard to making a rankings statement, as they host Utah State at 11:45 a.m. at Kyle Field. However
it is a chance to clean a few things up and get a few more live game reps leading up to A&M’s trip to South Bend to take on Notre Dame on Sept. 13. Despite losing their season-opener to Miami, the Irish remain in the top 10 (No. 9 in both polls), and seem unlikely to fall out give that they have a bye this week and the only ranked vs. ranked game is No. 15 Michigan at No. 18 Oklahoma.
