I know this is a football post, but I think a note about basketball is apt here. Last night, #1 Purdue took on an unranked Oakland team and was given one hell of a fight. Purdue didn’t play particularly
well, they are missing an All-American after all, and Oakland was ready and focused with a good game plan. Purdue got punched in the mouth a little bit but recovered enough to walk away with a double digit win. Today, #1 Ohio State comes in to take on an unranked Purdue team, will they be able to put up a hell of a fight just like Oakland did last night? Is there a game plan the Boilermakers can throw out that will neutralize the offensive and defensive strengths of this Ohio State team? I hope so, but it seems outlandish to even believe that. But then again, I bet many Oakland fans thought they would be absolutely rolled last night. It’s why they play the games folks.
Kickoff Time: 1:00 ET (for some reason)
TV: BTN
Radio: 96.5 FM (Purdue Radio Network)
Series Record: 42-15-2
Last Purdue Win: October 20, 2019, 49-20
Last Ohio State Win: November 29, 2024, 45-0
When you see that 49-20 score it’s impossible to not think of Tyler Trent. It’s impossible not to remember where we were that night and in that moment. That game will always be a reminder that in sports, like in life, anything is possible. It’s also a reminder that while it truly is a game and there are millions of things far more important in life, there are few things more important than sports to a lot of us. So, let’s watch these highlights, remember this story, and get ready for today’s game against Ohio State and wonder why not today?
