In our Duke preview, we said that Caleb Foster could end up being one of the most beloved Blue Devils of all time. That suspicion is reinforced by this article in SLAM.
In it, he talks about a number of things. One of our favorite parts is learning that he got up at 4:30 A.M. to get his shots in, then went to work with his dad’s landscaping company.
By the way, you’ll love what you learn about his dad here, too, and his mom.
Foster had a different upbringing than Larry Bird did in French Lick, but if you’re
like us, you’ll see similarities in the lessons learned. The Fosters have, well, fostered toughness and resilience in Caleb, not to mention a sense of loyalty.
We always want to see Duke win championships, but we’d really love it for him. He’s as deserving as anyone we can think of since Shane Battier.
This is a great article. You may want to keep it.
