Match referee Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez was the man handed the responsibility of officiating Sunday’s El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid at Camp Nou in a huge game in La Liga.
The official was wearing the RefCam for the game which showed what he told team captains Pedri and Vinicius Jr before kick-off.
“We’ll get along better with the three of us than if we have 20 guys around. So I’m leaving that help in your hands, otherwise I’ll have to solve it myself, which would be worse,” he said.
“Calmly; You are captains, with calmness and good manners, with your arms down and with respect. It will be an important match for us as well, don’t forget that.
“Good luck and enjoy the game, let’s try to make it easy for everyone.”
There’s been plenty of controversy in La Liga this season but Hernandez seemed eager to avoid a repeat on Sunday night as Barca went in search of the point they need to win La Liga.
