Combo guard and rising sophomore Isaiah Denis will be a Tar Heel next season. Denis came to UNC as a consensus 4-star prospect, rated the 60th player overall nationally and third in the state of North Carolina by ESPN. Denis held offers from Michigan, Kansas, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Miami, among others. Denis apparently reaggravated a finger injury suffered during his senior year of high school this season, which limited his playing opportunity. For the season, Denis appeared in three ACC games
and shot 7-14 from the field and 4-8 from three.
Denis joins Jaydon Young and Jarin Stevenson as North State natives on the UNC roster. Denis is the 6th player confirmed player on the roster so far, joining Young, Stevenson, Neoklis Avdalas, Maximo Adams, and Malloy Smith. Henri Veesaar’s status remains in limbo, while UNC has confirmed contacts with several more high profile players in the portal. While a complete roster remains in flux, Denis’ return adds depth with some exciting potential and Tar Heel roots.
