Sunday is all about the Cleveland Browns Week 7 matchup with the Tennessee Titans, where the injury status of CB Denzel Ward and LB Quincy Williams could be decisive. A win would move the Browns to 5-2, setting the stage for an interesting schedule on the field, with the NFL trade deadline and their bye week also hitting before the Thanksgiving holiday.
For Cleveland fans, it is exciting to think about their team going big game hunting at the trade deadline, see most rumors include the Browns adding
players, and only one name,WR Jerry Jeudy, potentially on the trade block.
Our panel weighed in on whether Cleveland should trade Jeudy, with a split decision. Given his value as a veteran, a few key plays in Week 6, and the Browns not needing to shed salary cap, Jeudy is not going to be shipped away for very little. According to Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter, the team isn’t shopping their veteran receiver, and the price tag is much higher than fans and media expected:
The Browns aren’t shopping Jeudy at all, and the price is high. It would take a premium deal to get Cleveland to move on — even if GM Andrew Berry is open to discussing any deal. But as of right now, a Jeudy deal seems unlikely.
Cleveland isn’t motivated, the price tag in a trade is high, trade rumors are not that teams are hot and heavy for Jeudy, and the Browns receiver doesn’t have huge production numbers. Putting that all together, we’d have to agree with the assessment that “a Jeudy deal seems unlikely.”
Are you surprised that the Browns expect “a premium deal” for Jeudy? Do you think the high asking price is a mistake?
