Indiana football has been hitting the recruiting trail hard in the wake of the program’s first national championship this past season. The program’s brand is at its all-time peak, so the Hoosiers are striking while the iron is hot.
But that doesn’t mean Indiana will neglect its own backyard.
The Hoosiers’ dominant defensive line is one of the main reasons there’s a College Football Playoff National Championship trophy in Bloomington, which no doubt made an impression on Jayce Brewer, an edge rusher
out of Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis. He’s rated as a 4-star prospect in the class of 2027 and ranks in as the 35th highest-rated edge rusher and 360th highest-rated prospect overall, per the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Steve Wiltfong, the Vice President for National College Football Recruiting at On3/Rivals, logged an expert prediction for the Hoosiers to land a commitment from Brewer, who has received interest from programs like Ohio State, Tennessee, Auburn and Michigan, among others.
Indiana currently has five commitments in the class of 2027.
