Better to be safe than sorry …
Two “Prelims” fighters were transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons following UFC Perth last night (Sat., Sept. 27, 2025) inside RAC Arena in Perth, Australia,
UFC officials confirmed to MMAmania.com.

Josias Musasa (8-2) was taken in for a precautionary CT scan of his head as well as a testicular ultrasound after absorbing a brutal low blow during his fight against Colby Thicknesse. Despite gutting it out, Musasa ultimately dropped a competitive unanimous decision.
“The K.O. Wizard” has now fallen to 0-2 inside the Octagon since earning a contract on Season 8 of Contender Series. The Congolese striker was clubbed-and-subbed in his debut against Carlos Vera (watch highlights), and this setback puts his back against the wall heading into his third appearance.

Meanwhile, UFC newcomer Elisha Ellison also required hospital care. The 28-year-old was transported for a precautionary CT scan after suffering a nasty knockout loss to fellow rookie Brando Pericic (watch highlights). Ellison was unconscious and motionless on the canvas for several minutes before being helped out of the cage.
Ellison (5-2) was originally scheduled to compete on week three of Season 9 Contender Series against Pericic, but both men were bumped to UFC Perth when the promotion needed bodies to fill out the card. The defeat snapped Ellison’s three-fight win streak in devastating fashion.
The results of the medical tests are currently unknown. It’s worth noting that it is not uncommon for UFC fighters to be transported to the hospital as a precaution, especially after knockouts or three-round wars with sustained damage.
