In the form that he’s in, Harry kane isn’t going anywhere very fast. In fact, there have been strong rumors linking the Englishman—whose current deal expires in June 2027—to a contract extension in the ballpark of two additional years. Despite the high likelihood of Kane remaining in Munich for at least another two years, Bayern is already keeping an eye out for his successor—and there seems to be a name that isn’t disappearing.
Nick Woltemade and Bayern Munich have been flirting with each other since
the six foot six striker’s Werder Bremen days. And despite Bayern’s failed attempt to lure the German international to Bavaria, a great deal of interest between the two parties still remains. Some reports even suggest Woltemade could leave Newcastle as soon as this Summer in favor of Die Rekordmeister. However, Maximilian Koch, Chief Reporter for Abendzeitung, threw cold water of the rumors…for now (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
There’s no truth to reports claiming that Nick Woltemade is already considering leaving Newcastle in the summer and that Bayern are maintaining contact. There has been no contact between Bayern and the player since last summer. Nevertheless, there remains a lot of appreciation between the two sides. Bayern will continue to observe Woltemade’s development closely, depending on what happens with Harry Kane in the future.
As far as potential Kane replacements go, Nick Woltemade isn’t a bad option at all. The German giant got off to a flying start in the Premier League, proving he can emulate the same form that earned him his transfer to Newcastle. Although, ‘Wolte-messi’s’ form has progressively slowed down, causing question as to whether the striker really can roll with the big boys. That’s exactly what Bayern will be keeping an eye out for in the next few seasons.
If Woltemade proves he can perform at the highest level, then don’t be surprised to see him trading the Magpies’ black and white for Bayern Munich’s traditional red and white some time in the future.
