Player Ratings: Real Madrid 4 – 1 Real Sociedad
Thibaut Courtois: 7
Harsh to blame him for the penalty that Oyarzabal converted. All in all, Courtois only had to make two straightforward saves — but he made them nonetheless.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: 8.5
Takes this team to another level. His distribution and composure were incredible tonight. The weight and variety of his passing constantly broke lines. His assist is what broke the deadlock.
Antonio Rüdiger: 7 Quiet — which is exactly what you want. Held his line well and covered the right half-space
with authority.
Dean Huijsen: 6
Still a bit chaotic. Was late committing the foul that led to Real Sociedad’s penalty and looked shaky at times. Improved after switching to right center-back in the second half.
Álvaro Carreras: 7.5
Strong ball carrying and good distribution. Also earned an assist. Offered consistent progression down the left.
Fede Valverde: 9
A dominant two-way performance, including an absolute golazo. Combined beautifully with Trent and often tucked into right-back seamlessly. Everywhere, as usual.
Arda Güler: 6.5
Struggled to influence the game in the final third. Looked gassed late on. His final ball was either off the mark or a beat too late.
Aurélien Tchouaméni: 8
Strong defensive display with excellent ball-winning in midfield and solid distribution. Anchored transitions well.
Eduardo Camavinga: 7.5
Excellent movement and link-up play in the left half-space with Vinícius, plus some sharp long-range distribution. Slightly late to a couple of challenges but strong overall.
Gonzalo García: 7
Great pressing and defensive work rate. Took his goal well. Should’ve scored at least one — maybe two — more with the chances he had.
Vinícius Jr.: 9
Gave Jon Aramburu hell all night. Won two penalties and converted both. Relentless, decisive, and devastating.
Substitutes
Dani Carvajal: 6.5
Had some good defensive moments. Madrid lost a step when he came on, but that had more to do with Trent going off than Carvajal’s performance.
David Alaba: 6
Slow to track his marker despite fresh legs. Lost his man on a cross that nearly led to a goal.
Brahim Díaz: 6
Weak on the ball and didn’t provide his usual spark off the bench.
Dani Ceballos: 6.5
Solid distribution and control off the bench — did what was asked of him.
Jorge Cestero: N/A
