Barcelona have issued an injury update on defenders Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde
after the duo picked up knocks in Saturday’s win over Real Betis.Garcia has been ruled out of action for several weeks with a thigh problem, while Kounde has an ankle injury and will sit out the midweek Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
Here’s Barcelona’s statement:
“First-team player Eric Garcia has suffered a muscle injury to the rectus femoris in his right thigh. His recovery time is estimated at 3 to 4
weeks.
“First-team player Jules Kounde has suffered a sprain to his left ankle and will miss the match against PSG. His availability for Sunday’s Clásico against Real Madrid will depend on how his injury progresses.”
There’s no news on Gerard Martin, who also suffered discomfort against PSG, which suggests he could well be available for the game against Luis Enrique’s side.
Barcelona are also still without Andreas Christensen due to injury, leaving Flick short of options defensively for this week’s big games against PSG and Real Madrid.
