The New York Jets lost their fourth straight game to start the 2025 season on Monday Night Football. The Miami Dolphins came into the game winless but emerged with the victory in a game where the Jets couldn’t get out of their own way.
After the Dolphins took a 14 point lead late in the third quarter the game was all but over. The Jets simply aren’t built to overcome two touchdown deficits in the final quarter. They made the game mildly interesting, getting within six points late, but they were left
with too little time and not enough timeouts. The Dolphins calmly ran the clock down on their final possession, then pinned the Jets back at their own two yard line with two seconds left. Game over.
Three Jets lost fumbles and an avalanche of Jets penalties did not help matters. This is a poorly coached, undisciplined team with very limited talent. That’s not exactly a formula for success.
Now the Jets limp home to face the Dallas Cowboys next week. Maybe some home cooking will do the trick and inject some life into this moribund franchise. Maybe, but I doubt it. This already looks like another lost season, and we haven’t even gotten out of September yet. Thanks Woody.
Let’s take a look at the current odds for this game according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The current line has the Jets home underdogs by 2.5 points. They have been underdogs every game this season. The game has an over/under of 46.5 points. On the moneyline the Jets are +118 while the Cowboys are -142.
