The next challenger for the AEW World Championship took a little time to come forth, and now the opponent is clear for Hangman Page.
Kyle Fletcher is the man of hour. The TNT champion dubbed himself as the new star to step up with injuries to Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland, and Kenny Omega. In a promo on Collision (Sep. 9, 2025), the Protostar issued the challenge to Hangman for the world title.
Hangman has a little business first. AEW booked the cowboy into a grudge match against Josh Alexander on Dynamite. Fletcher has little concern that Hangman will decline his challenge, because Fletcher has shown that he has no problem putting the world champ on the injured list. Based on the storyline, this match is all but official.
