Anthony Gordon scored his first Barcelona goal on Saturday in the 3-0 win over Getafe
and was a happy man after finally finding the back of the net.The England international has impressed since signing from Newcastle United in the summer and says the goal will give him a boost.
“This is good for my confidence; I feel the fans’ support in the goal celebrations. The team always comes first. If it doesn’t go in, it’s not the end of the world; I go to sleep peacefully because I know the goals will eventually
come,” he told DAZN.
“I’ve never seen a team like this. What this club has achieved is historic, with the goals. We’ve had a great start to the season, but we can’t get complacent. We have to keep scoring goals and defending well.”
Barcelona’s start to the campaign has been perfect so far but the team faces a real test in the coming weeks due to a demanding fixture schedule.
Next up is a trip to Turkey to face Galatasaray in the Champions League; Barcelona then head back to Spain for a date with Real Betis next Saturday.
