Barcelona look set to wave goodbye to Ansu Fati permanently as Monaco have reportedly agreed to pay the €11 million purchase option in his loan deal.
Fabrizio Romano has an update on the forward and says that Monaco have finally made a decision on the forward and adds the deal is at the “final stages.” A report from L’Equipe also states that Monaco are confident of keeping Ansu.
The decision comes as Fati heads towards the end of his loan deal with the Ligue 1 club. He has scored 11 goals in all competitions
so far this season and played 28 times for Monaco.
Fati’s dad spoke about his son’s future recently and said he wanted to stay with Monaco. He said: “We still don’t know, because he has a contract until 2028, that’s for sure. We don’t know, but we want him to stay at Monaco, because he is happy there.”
The 23-year-old looks like he will be the first player to depart Barcelona this summer. Other departures are expected, with Marc Casado one player expected to move on in search of more regular minutes.
