The career odyssey of James Rodríguez continues its uncharted path to…Minnesota.
Yes, the same Minnesota that has January lows around 9-10°F (-13°C) and highs around 24°F (-4°C) in the Twin Cities.
That
is where notorious #WarmWeatherMerchant James Rodríguez is headed to play for Minnesota United FC.
MLS insider Tom Bogert broke the news:
The attacking midfielder, who famously thought both Bayern Munich and Everton were too cold, is headed to freaking Minnesota.
Rodríguez is going to look out that window, see all that snow, and tell the pilot to turnaround. Maybe he can commute?
Anyway, the list of clubs where he has played is something else:
- Envigado FC (Colombia):2007 – 2008
- Banfield (Argentina): 2008 – 2009
- FC Porto (Portugal): 2010 – 2013
- AS Monaco (France): 2013 – 2014
- Real Madrid (Spain): 2014 – 2020
- Bayern Munich (Germany — loan): 2017 – 2019
- Everton FC (England): 2020 – 2021
- Al-Rayyan SC (Qatar): 2021 – 2022
- Olympiacos FC (Greece): 2022 – 2023
- São Paulo FC (Brazil): 2023 – 2024
- Rayo Vallecano (Spain): 2024
