Bayern Munich emerged victorious over Real Madrid with a thrilling 4-3 (6-4) win in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal stage. Bayern never trailed in either leg but had to reclaim the aggregate lead twice in Munich to vanquish Real Madrid. After Eduardo Camavinga’s second yellow card in the 86th minute, Luis Díaz fired Bayern into the next round with a deflected shot in the 89th minute. Michael Olise poured the icing on the cake with another goal at the final whistle.
Bayern’s treble quest has
now reached the semifinal stage in both the Champions League and DFB-Pokal tournaments. The elimination match against Bayer Leverkusen will take place on Wednesday, April 22nd. Here is the schedule for the two legs against PSG.
Bayern will be considered the favorite in the rest of the club’s matches this season but will have to knock out the defending champs to win the Champions League, plus a feisty Leverkusen side that has already been eliminated from contention in both the Champions League and the Bundesliga.
