Attendance has been excellent at the Green Bay Packers’ offseason program, as usual. The team’s implementation of workout bonuses in veterans’ contracts helps ensure those players’ appearance throughout the spring and in OTA practices, and young players are almost always present as well, looking to take advantage of any opportunity to make a good impression on or off the field.
Still, this week’s mandatory minicamp is all but guaranteed to get every member of the roster together for three days of practices
that run Tuesday to Thursday. It is notable, however, that minicamp is this week; normally, the Packers have scheduled that part of the program for the final week of practice rather than the next-to-last. Ultimately, however, it makes little difference how the Packers define minicamp and the last week of OTAs, as each will still be three days of practice with essentially the entire roster present and participating.
This weekend, however, brought a bit of fun and levity to the team as Jordan Love and Micah Parsons co-hosted the annual charity softball game. Parsons, for his part, got pretty heated in the competitive nature of the game, especially as his defensive team came up short against Love and the offense.
Parsons has embraced everything about the Packers’ organization in his short time in Green Bay, however, this game included. It’s a bit hard to believe that it has still been less than 10 months since he joined the Packers, and it’s exciting to think about the impact he’ll have on the defense when he returns to the field from rehab — probably just in time for the team’s first game against the Chicago Bears in Week 5.
Here’s a look back at the fun in Appleton on Friday night before we look ahead to minicamp.

Parsons’ unit had a rough go, giving up home runs to Sean Rhyan, Trey Smack, and Kyren Drones (who crushed a grand slam to put it away).

It’s early, but it is notable that each of the Packers’ first two draft picks have already been getting snaps with the number one defense. Will that continue through minicamp?
