For the last few weeks, since Kevin Stefanski was fired, it’s been challenging to picture what the future of this team would look like. It makes sense that the Cleveland Browns would end up selecting an offense-minded head coach to bring a real vision and stability to that side of the wall. There are conflicting reports on whether Jim Schwartz will be continuing with the team in 2026, but the team at least has a direction on offense now.
Todd Monken will bring a different offensive perspective to
Cleveland, and one thing he is known for is his ability to adapt to the strengths of different players. This was particularly true during his time with the Baltimore Ravens, where building an offense around Lamar Jackson required adaptability and constant evolution.
Monken’s presence makes the quarterback’s question feel a lot more stable. He will be able to work with a wide variety of quarterbacks with different skill sets and find a way to make the offensive system work for each of them. Although this hire does not guarantee any major changes for the team, knowing his style will hopefully raise the floor of the offense and give the team some philosophical clarity.
Let me know what you think in the comments – Does the Monken hire change your feelings about the Browns in 2026?
