Former Kentucky basketball star Oscar Tshiebwe has re-signed with the Utah Jazz on a two-way contract after a record-breaking G League campaign with the Salt Lake City Stars.
Tshiebwe played in 14 games for the Jazz last season, where he was averaging 7.6 points on 60 percent shooting and 8.7 rebounds in just 18.2 minutes per game. He also had four double-doubles and grabbed double-digit rebounds in eight games.
With the Salt Lake Stars, Tshiebwe showed how talented a star he is by leading the G League
in rebounding across the board, averaging 19.0 boards per game to go with 17.1 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.2 steals in 42 starts. His dominant run earned him All-NBA G League First Team honors, while he set multiple league records, including most offensive rebounds in a single season (305) and most 20-20 performances in one year (eight). On March 3, he became just the third player in league history to record a 30-rebound game.
At Kentucky, Tshiebwe cemented his legacy as a two-time All-American and the 2022 Consensus National Player of the Year. He averaged 17.4 points and 15.1 rebounds as a junior before posting 16.5 points and 13.7 rebounds as a senior.
Now, under his new two-way deal, Tshiebwe will be eligible for up to 50 games with Utah as he looks to carve out a long-term NBA role.
